Immigration to Alberta, Canada via the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) International Graduates Stream


Internationals Graduates seeking immigration to Canada that wish to reside in Alberta, can apply under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), Employer Driven International Graduates.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is designed to assist employers who are unable to recruit Canadian citizens or permanent residents to fulfil their recruitment needs.

Successful immigrant applications under this scheme pave the way for successful Canadian immigration to the province of Alberta and the gaining of permanent residency status.



Conditions for successfully applying for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), under the international graduate program include:

  • Have obtained a diploma, degree, or have completed a graduate level program from a publicly funded community college, trade/technical school or university in Alberta or Canada, OR at a private institution in Alberta authorized by the provincial statute to confer degree
  • The international graduate must have secured permanent full-time employment with an Alberta employer in a field relating to their studies.
  • The educational program must have been a minimum of two years in duration at the undergraduate level, or a minimum of one year at the graduate level.
  • The international graduate must have secured permanent full-time employment with an Alberta employer.
  • The international graduate must be employed with that employer, on a post-graduate work permit, for a minimum of six months in a skilled occupation related to their field of study prior to applying to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).
    • Skilled workers are those professions that require a formal education and/ or specialized training. The national occupation classification (NOC) defines these as professions that fall under the skills level O, A or B.
