Strategic Projects

Strategic Projects allows for foreign owned entities that are establishing a business in British Columbia to rectify up to 5 foreigners into strategic positions, such as senior management and technical positions that intend to settle permanently in British Columbia.

Criteria for companies applying under this category include:   
  • A minimum investment amount of CDN $ 500,000 must be made to either establish or expand a British Columbia based business.
  • Be able to prove a sound track record of a successful business outside of Canada that is relevant to the proposed new business in Canada.
  • For each nominated employee requiring nomination, create at least 3 jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • Nominated foreign staff must be qualified senior staff that are essential to the operations of the British Columbia business.
  • A Canadian subsidiary or extra provisional company must be incorporated and a performance agreement must be signed with the British Colombia Province.
  • Sign a Performance Agreement with the Province of British Columbia.
