Medical Examination Requirements for Canada Immigration with a Federal Skilled Workers Permit

If you are seeking immigration to Canada , no matter which Canadian visa you are applying for, a medical examination must be undertaken.

The medical examination for immigrants is designed to detect conditions that may affect the health of Canadian citizens or place undue pressure on the Canadian public health service.

A medical examination is generally confined to a physical examination that includes blood tests, urine tests and x-rays.

The medical examination can be carried out in any country around the world by designated medical practitioners and is valid for a period of one year.

It should be noted that spouses and dependants (accompanying and un-accompanying) are required to undertake medical examinations. In some cases non accompanying dependants may be exempted, however they would subsequently not be eligible to undertake immigration to Canada under the family sponsorship visa.
