Canadian Immigration to Manitoba via the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program - Business Stream
 

The MPNP Business Stream is broken down into two distinct categories: the Provincial Nominee Program for Business and the Young Farmer Nominee Program. The scope of the PNP for Business is to allow the province of Manitoba to recruit and nominate qualified business peoples from around the world who show an intent and ability to move to the province of Manitoba, and establish, purchase, or become partners in a business. The Young Farmer Nominee program allows for applicants who are interested in starting or purchasing a farm in the province of Manitoba but do not meet the qualification criteria of the PNP for Business.

Application Criteria for PNP Business Stream

  •   The applicant must have a minimum personal net worth of $350,000 CAD
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate business (or farm) ownership experience, or a minimum of three years experience in a senior management role of a successful company
  • proof of an exploratory visit to Manitoba to assess business opportunities and gain knowledge of the province
  • intent to make an eligible business investment 
    • must control 33.33% of the equity if buying into existing business ORinvest a minimum of $1 million CAD into the business (no redemption options)
    • investment into personal items is not considered part of the business investment
    • businesses that operate primarily to derive passive investment income are ineligible
    • investment must be at least $150,000 CAD  (some exceptions)
  • intent to reside in Manitoba with their family
  • The business must have recurring and continuous business activities in Manitoba, and the nominee must continually and actively manage the business.  The business must also be viable, legal and be supported by the nominee's matching and sufficient skills and resources.
  • *Speculative activities do not qualify; the business activities must be value-added.
  • Once approved for nomination, applicants must make a $75,000 deposit to the Manitoba government to guarantee you will live in Manitoba and start/buy a business or farm within two years of becoming a permanent resident. You will receive your deposit back once you have met the conditions.
