Canadian Immigration to Manitoba via the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Scheme - Young Farmer
The MPNP Business Stream is broken down into two distinct categories; the Provincial Nominee Program for Business, and the Young Farmer Nominee Program.
The scope of the PNP for Business is to allow the province of Manitoba to recruit and nominate qualified business peoples from around the world who show an intent and ability to move to the province of Manitoba, and establish, purchase, or become partners in a business.
The Young Farmer Nominee program allows for applicants who are interested in starting, or purchasing a farm in the province of Manitoba, but do not meet the qualification criteria of the PNP for Business.
Application Criteria for the Young Farmer Nominee Program
- The applicant must have a minimum personal net worth of $150,000 CAD
- The applicant must make a minimum amount of equity investment of $150,000 CAD
- The principal applicant must be under 40 years of age
- The applicant must be able to demonstrate a minimum of three years of farm ownership or farm management experience
- The principal applicant (and/or spouse) should have marketable skills that would supplement farm income
- The applicant must undertake an exploratory visit to Manitoba for a minimum of seven days to investigate farming opportunities and the quality of life in the province
- The applicant must make an eligible business investment in the province of Manitoba
- The applicant and their dependants must have intent to reside in the province of Manitoba
- The applicant, should the nomination be approved, must be willing to make a good faith deposit with the province of Manitoba of $75,000 CAD, which will be refunded without interest when you have made the business investment outlined in your application, your business or farm is operational, and you are living in Manitoba
- Ability to demonstrate that the combination of farm income and off-farm supplementary income will provide, after taxes, in excess of $35,000 CAD per year
