New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program - Skilled Workers

One of the aims of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program, skilled workers, is to assist employers who are unable to recruit Canadian citizens or permanent residents to fulfill their recruitment needs. With low unemployment rates it is a fact that skill shortages often exist.

Successful immigrant applications under this scheme pave the way for successful Canadian immigration to the province of New Brunswick and the gaining of permanent residency status. I



New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program, Skilled Worker Criteria

Applicants for immigration to Canada, under the skilled workers category of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program, should be aware of the following criteria:
  • between age 22 and 55
  • proficiency in English and/or French that meets your employment requirements
  • required qualifications, experience, education and licenses for the position
  • genuine offer of permanent full-time employment in one of these skill /type levels within the National Occupation Classification:
    • Skill /type levels 0, A, B
    • Skill levels C and D (categories 1, 3, 7, 8, 9)
*If the position is in skill level C or D, the applicant must have worked for the same employer for one year before applying
  •  employer could not find Canadian citizen or permanent resident to fill the position
  •   the position offers current industry wages and meets provincial labour standards

Applicants must also score 50 points on the selection critera:
  • Age (maximum 10 points)
  • Language (maximum 15 points)
  • Education (maximum 18 points)
  • Adaptability – includes family, previous education or employment in the province, a Labour Market Opinion, and additional skills in a second occupation (maximum 25 points)
