Criteria for the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nomination Program (NLPNP) - Family Category


The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nomination Program (NLPNP), Family Connections, Category has two sets of criteria:
  1. The sponsors (the nominating family)
  2. The nominated applicant (the relative).

The Nomination Family (Sponsors)
 

Sonsors who are permitted to nominate the following family members under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nomination Program (NLPNP), Family Connections category are:

  • Parents
  • Daughter or Son
  • Brother or Sister
  • Brother-in-law, sister-in-law
  • Niece or Nephew
  • Aunt or Uncle
  • Grandchild
  • First cousin or
  • Step-daughter, step-son, step-sister, step-brother
  • In order for a family member to be considered as a sponsor, he or she must have been legally residing in the province of Newfoundland for a minimum of one year.

The Relative (The Nominated Applicant)

The criteria of the nominee (the relative) in the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nomination Program (NLPNP) Family Connections category includes the following:
  • Age 18 – 49.
  • Have family support (requires the the appropriate affidavit).
  • Have or intend to find a full time job in Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Have adequate and verifiable English language ability to be able to conduct themselves in an offered job or secure a job in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Have at least one year of work experience.
  • Demonstrate funds equating to CDN $10,000 for themselves and CDN $2,000 for each dependant
  • Have completed one year post secondary education that has resulted in a diploma, degree or certificate.
  • Have the intention to reside in Newfoundland and Labrador.
