NSNP NON-DEPENDANT CHILD OF NOVA SCOTIA NOMINEES STREAM


The NSNP Non-Dependant Child of Nova Scotia Nominees stream is aimed at selecting individuals who are the non-dependant children of immigrants who were nominated under the NSNP. The applicant must plan to live in the province of NS permanently, be employable, and be able to contribute to the labour market and economy of Nova Scotia.

Employability will be determined based on current labour market needs;  applicants will be selected on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility criteria for the applicant (non-dependant child)


  • must have been named in your parent's application to the NSNP, their IMM0008 General Application for PR, and/or on the IMM5406 Family Information form
  • You meet all age, education, language, employability and financial requirements
  • You have completed at least one year of post-secondary education, a training program or apprenticeship, and received a diploma, degree or certificate issued by an accredited institution


Eligibility criteria for the sponsor (parent)
 

  • You are a Canadian citizen or PR and have been nominated through the NSNP
  • You are the parent of a child who was named in your original application to PR to the NSNP
  • You have established a family residence in the province of NS within six months of obtaining PR status, and have remained a resident of the province of NS
  • You have been a resident of NS for at least three consecutive months prior to the date of application and will continue to reside in NS at the time of submission, throughout the application process, and following your child's arrival in the province of NS with PR status. If at any time, the parent of the applicant has left NS to live in another province, they are no longer eligible under this program
