Non-Dependent Child of Nova Scotia Nominee Stream
Adult (non-dependent) children of Nova Scotia residents who were nominated under the NSPN themselves may apply for permanent residency under certain conditions:
- intent to live permanently in Nova Scotia
- significant Nova Scotia employment prospects and ability to contribute to economy
- employable (determined by local labour market)
- one year full-time work experience in the previous five (in their field of study)
- and/or
- intent to find employment in Nova Scotia
Criteria for Principle Applicant
- must have been named in parent's NSNP permanent residence application
- proof of legal status I country of residence, including Canada
- 22 years old +
- one year post-secondary training, education, or apprenticeship (must have received diploma, certificate or degree)
- evidence of sufficient English/French language proficiency (IELTS/TEF 4.5)
- one year full-time work experience in field of study OR intent to work in Nova Scotia
- proof of intent to settle in Nova Scotia (includes Letter of Intent)
- sufficient settlement funds ($10,000 plus $2000 per dependant)
Criteria for the Parent in Nova Scotia
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- previous NSNP nominee
- principle applicant was named in parent's original application for permanent residency
- settled and have remained in Nova Scotia within six months of becoming a permanent resident
- resident of Nova Scotia for three months in a row (if new immigrant)
- must reside in Nova Scotia throughout child's application process including at time of child's arrival
- provision of a one-page settlement plan outlining their intended support for their child.
