The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is designed to assist entrepreneurs in the Canadian immigration process. Successful immigrant applications under this scheme pave the way for successful Canadian immigration to the province of Saskatchewan and the gaining of permanent residency status. In addition it meets the needs of attracting and retaining needed entrepreneurs. Applicants for the entrepreneurs category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee program (SINP) need to be ware of the following: SINP - Entrepreneur Category - General Stream CriteriaIn order to qualify for nomination under the General Stream under the SINP Entrepreneur category, there are three main criteria that the applicant must meet: - Minimum verifiable net-worth of $300,000 CAD, obtained through legal means
- Minimum of three years of entrepreneurial or relevant business management experience
- Intent to reside and actively invest in the province of Saskatchewan
Once the applicant is approved for nomination, they will be required to do the following:- Make a minimum active investment of $150,000 CAD in the province of Saskatchewan to purchase or establish a new business venture. Should the applicant control less than 33.3% of the total equity, the minimum investment must be equal to $1,000,000 CAD. - Be involved in the ongoing day-to-day management of the business. - Make a $75,000 CAD Good Faith Deposit with the province of Saskatchewan. This will be returned, with any interest accrued within two years of the date of landing, when the applicant has met any conditions outlined in a performance agreement signed with the province and can demonstrate six-months active investment in the province. SINP - ENTREPRENEUR CATEGORY - SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY STREAMIn order to qualify under the Science and Technology stream, the following requirements must be met: - Own a patent and intend to commercialize it though an active investment in the province of Saskatchewan, OR - Own an innovative IT idea and intend to commercialize it though an active investment in the province of Saskatchewan, OR - Intend to actively invest in a partnership with an existing Saskatchewan-based science and technology firm. - Meet the three main criteria outlined in the SINP Entrepreneur General Stream - Scientific education and/or research-based work experience will be considered in assessing the applicants entrepreneurial or business management experience SINP - ENTREPRENEUR CATEGORY - LARGE SCALE INVESTOR STREAMThe Large Scale Investor stream is designed for individuals who wish to actively invest $10,000,000 CAD or more in the province of Saskatchewan. An application for nomination would be completed as for the General Stream; however, priority processing will be given to applications marked under the Large Scale Investor stream.
