Canada Visitor Visa(Temporary Residence Visa)
Visiting Canada with a visitor visa will allow you to enter Canada for up to 6 months. It should be noted that the Canada visitors Visa is only appropriate for those wishing to enter the country for the purposes of visiting and nothing else. Canada visitors visas are not viewed or utilised as a form of gaining permanent residence.
Some useful information on Canada Visitor Visas
- You may be required to undergo a medical examination.
- Sufficient funds must be proven to support you and your family during your stay.
- A letter of invitation from a friend or relative currently residing in Canada may be required.
- You pose no security threat to Canada and its citizens.
- You do not intend to take up employment.
- Have no criminal record and intend to abide by Canadian laws.
- 6 months validity on your passport as a minimum.
Classes of Canada Visitor Visas
Visas are available under two different categories:
A Single-Entry Canada Visitor Visa
This class of visitors visa allows you to enter Canada once for a six month period of time; however, once you are in the country an extension can be applied for. This extension to your Canada visitor visa must be made 30 days prior to the expiry of the initial one.
A Multiple Entry Canada Visitor Visa
The multiple-entry visitors visas can last for the same duration as the single entry visitor's visa; however it allows you to enter Canada a number of times during the 6 month period. It is the decision of issuing case officer as to the period for which that the multiple entry visitor visa is issued.
